PNJ Engineering – Light Manufacturing & Engineering
PSC was delighted to be invited to look at 470 square metres of production area flooring for PNJ Engineering in Alcester, Warwickshire. PNJ Engineering specialises in precision manufacturing and sheet metal steel fabrication.
Client Brief and Recommendation
The client was looking for a hard-wearing flooring solution for its new production area that would be easy to keep clean and give a modern feel.
It was noted at the site visit that the existing floor was in extremely bad shape, with multiple layers of failed floor paint on top of a 2-3mm laytex screed and adhesive so it was recommended that the floor would need extensive grinding back using PSD discs before the application of a two coat Epoxy Resin Flooring System.
In Preparation
In preparation for the two-coat High Build System, we spent 3 full days preparing the entire floor. We used a scarifier, followed by PCD discs, and finally diamond discs on the captive Husqvarna diamond grinding machine. This process returned the floor to sound plain concrete. Once all the built-up layers of failed floor paint and latex were removed, we vacuumed the area clean. We also made localised repairs to any damaged concrete, bolt holes, and cracks using epoxy resin screed and resin filler.
470 Square metres of Light Manufacturing & Engineering Flooring
The team then laid two coats of KDR Epocoat MT Moisture Tolerant High Build Epoxy Resin Flooring System in the clients chosen colourway, gloss, Graphite Dark Grey.
The client was absolutely delighted with the final resin finish and has requested that a further 400 square metres be completed by PSC later in the year. This really was a huge transformation of engineering floor by PSC Flooring.
