Three Counties Showground – Commercial Flooring
Three Counties Showground in Malvern contacted PSC Flooring Ltd to refurbish the floor in their main 3000 square meter exhibition hall which has over 100,000 pedestrians visiting every year . The existing epoxy resin coatings were not giving them a long-term solution and they were constantly upgrading them every few years. The brief was for an aesthetically pleasing floor that was hard wearing and durable able to withstand high levels of foot traffic at their weekly exhibitions.
PSC Flooring Ltd specified a Resdev Pumaflow 3mm SL epoxy resin screed. Ideal for this high traffic situation an epoxy resin self-levelling screed usually used for industrial locations where a durable, hygienic dust free environment is important e.g. laboratories, hospital clean rooms, electronics assembly plants, showrooms, and light industrial plants.
In preparation the 3000 square meter area was heavily shot-blasted to remove the existing resin coatings and all areas were swept and vacuumed cleaned. All the existing expansion joints were recut and repaired using epoxy mortar compound before two coats epoxy resin primer were applied to the total floor area.
Finally, a 3mm self-levelling epoxy resin screed, in the clients chosen light grey gloss was laid, giving the space a light an airy feel.
The 3000 square meter project was completed in 12 days, on time and in budget, providing the client with a very robust, durable, hard wearing surface, that is good to look at that will be maintenance free and can be used for many years to come.
