Agilitas Nottingham – Warehouse Flooring
Ices Electrical & Maintenance Ltd called PSC Flooring in to refurbish a cementitious screed and resin floor. The project itself was for Agilitas I.T Solutions Limited a leading inventory management and technical services company based in Nottingham.
After thoroughly assessing the floor, it was recommended that an 8mm DCP cementitious screed be applied to the whole area followed by a 3 coats epoxy resin coating system to the 2548 square metre area.
In preparation for the 8mm DCP cementitious screed and epoxy resin coating system the floor needed to have the existing epoxy resin coatings removed, thoroughly cleaned. The existing concrete floor surface was prepared using a heavy shotblast via a totally enclosed ride on shotblasting machine and a double headed diamond grinding machine. The edges were prepared using a handheld diamond grinding machine. Repairs were then made to damaged localised concrete, expansion joints, holes and cracks as required using polyurethane mortar compound.
One coat of DCP DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) epoxy resin priming system, was applied to total floor area, incorporating a heavy scatter of 0.6 to 1.2mm quartz aggregate, before the machine pumped nominal 8mm heavy duty DCP Cemflow topping cementitious screed.
Once dry a Resdev WD epoxy resin priming system and a further two coats of Resdev Pumatect high build, epoxy resin flooring system, in the clients chosen light grey was applied to the total floor area.
In order to prevent cracking from sub movement in the original concrete 280 linear meters of 6mm x 10mm expansion joints were saw cut, knocked out and infilled with jointing compound.
