Four Anjels – Commercial Flooring
PSC recently installed a Decorative epoxy resin flooring flake system for Four Anjels Limited (an award-winning bakery based in the heart of the Cotswolds) at their new factory in Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham.
Client Brief & Recommendation
Having already completed the 1295 square metre production floor the client was looking for a more decorative look for the 180 square metres of canteen, offices, toilets, changing rooms and corridors but that would also be easy to keep clean. At the site visit PSC discussed all the decorative options available and recommended a Decorative epoxy resin flooring flake system to meet with the client’s budget expectations. PSC recommended a Decorative flake system using a MT moisture tolerant epoxy resin base system with two coats of WD epoxy resin, in clear, silk to seal the decorative finish
In Preparation
In order to prepare the new concrete floor surface, the newly laid concrete floor was thoroughly cleaned and prepared using a diamond grinding system. The whole area was then vacuumed clean all residues and dust.
180 square metres Decorative epoxy resin flake system
Resdev Pumatect MT moisture tolerant epoxy resin base system was applied to the180 square metre area and then whilst still wet the area was completely blinded with decorative flake system, in the clients chosen white, grey, and black colour system.
Once dry the area was swept to remove any loose flakes and then de-nibbed using an STR machine with a fine pad. De-nibbing removes any protruding flakes leaving a flat surface. Two coats of Resdev Pumacoat WD epoxy resin, in clear, silk was laid to seal the decorative finish.
