Glenside Commercial Interiors Ltd – High Wycombe – Commercial Flooring
We have worked with Glenside Commercial Interiors Ltd on several projects, and it’s always a pleasure to be called back for another. This time, we were asked to assess a 120 square metre floor area. Furthermore, this area included a Facilities Room and Lower Ground Corridor for Glenside’s client in High Wycombe.
Client Brief and Recommendation
The end client, a leading provider of high-tech products and services for research and industry, wanted a hardwearing floor. We recommended installing a 6mm Resdev Pumadur MD polyurethane screed, with expansion joints cut and filled with matching polyurethane jointing compound.
In Preparation
To prepare for the recommended 6mm Resdev Pumadur MD polyurethane screed, we fully prepared the concrete substrate floor. We did this by using our captive Husqvarna diamond grinders to remove grime and ensure proper adhesion. We completed all edgework by diamond grinding with a fully enclosed handheld 110v diamond grinder. Then, we vacuumed the entire area to remove all residues and dust. We repaired any localised damaged concrete, large cracks, and holes using epoxy mortar compound and epoxy resin screed as necessary.
The final step of preparation was to saw cut 6mm x 6mm channels at door thresholds and where needed to toe in and anchor the screed.
120 Square meters of Commercial Flooring
In the initial stage, we applied an Epoxy Resin Primer with a heavy scatter of 0.7 to 1.2mm quartz aggregate. Moreover, this was to ensure proper traction for the screed and improve adhesion. We then laid a nominal 6mm Heavy Duty Resdev Pumadur MD Polyurethane Screed in the specified smooth, matt Mid Grey finish. We laid this across the entire floor area, following the approved sample.
To accommodate existing expansion joints, we meticulously saw cut a 6mm x 6mm channel and filled it with matching polyurethane jointing compound. This covered approximately 30 linear meters.
The project was efficiently completed within a short time frame of just 3 days, meeting both the scheduled deadline and the allocated budget.
