OMC Motor Group Ltd – Vehicle Workshop Flooring
PSC Flooring were recently called in by OMC Motor Group Ltd ford dealership to look at their 650 square metres. OMC is a family-owned Ford dealership in Oldham retailing new and used car since 1907.
Client Brief and Recommendation
At the site visit it was obvious that there were failed floor paint coatings, as well as the usual oil, grease, and dirt that you would expect in a vehicle workshop. The client was looking for a hardwearing flooring solution that would reflect the light and be easy to keep clean. PSC recommended a two-coat high build system.
Preparation of floor surface
In order to remove the failed floor paint coatings, and remove the oil, grease and dirt the floor was thoroughly cleaned using the totally enclosed triple headed diamond grinding floor machine and a handheld diamond grinder. The whole area was then vacuumed clean and repairs were made to localised damaged concrete, holes and cracks using epoxy resin screed and polyurethane mortar.
650 Square Metres of Vehicle Workshop High Build Epoxy Resin
To prevent oil from leaching, we applied one coat of Resdev Pumaprime OCS oil-tolerant epoxy resin primer to 80 square meters of the floor, specifically where heavy oil contamination existed under the ramps. Once the primer dried, we laid two coats of Resdev Pumatect high-build epoxy resin flooring in the client’s chosen light grey. To complete the look, we masked off the ramp area and applied a safety yellow with a white line outline.
