Watertight Management – Engineering & Manufacturing Flooring
PSC Flooring were called in to look at a 280 square metre area for Watertight Management, a nationwide, specialist water and wastewater contractor based in Bromsgrove.
Client Brief and Recommendations
The 280 square meter area was divided into a vehicle workshop, offices, canteen and toilets. Additionally, the client wanted a very hard, long lasting, smooth resin floor in matt finish. Therefore, PSC recommended a 6mm Resdev Pumadur MD polyurethane screed.
In Preparation
To prepare for the 6mm MD Polyurethane Screed, we ground back the floor using a captive diamond grinding machine and vacuumed it clean of all dust and debris. Next, we made 6mm x 6mm saw cuts around drains, door entrances, and areas where it was necessary to toe in and anchor the screed. We repaired the damaged voids along the perimeter by knocking out failed concrete where needed and infilling with polyurethane mortar compound. Afterward, we primed the areas with an OCS oil-tolerant epoxy resin primer and scattered quartz aggregate over it while wet.
280 sq mtrs of 6mm Resdev Pumadur MD polyurethane screed
Once the primer coat with scatter was fully dry, a nominal 6mm MD polyurethane screed in the clients chosen finish – smooth, matt, Dark Grey, was laid to the vehicle workshop, offices, canteen and toilet areas. Then, finally once the screed was dry approximately 50 linear meters of expansion joints were then recut, knocked out and infilled with polyurethane jointing compound.
Completed in just 4 days on time and within budget.
