PSC Flooring were delighted to be asked by their long-term client, A & M Commercials Ltd of Warrington to refurbish a former HGV workshop and help extend it into their showroom. As one of the UK’s largest HGV suppliers in the Northwest of England, A & M Commercials Ltd planned works were to create a space to exhibit their HGV cabs.
The brief was for a high-end, hard-wearing resin floor that would be high gloss to reflect light and easy to clean. The showroom space floor would have HGV cabs parked on it but would be mainly subject to pedestrian traffic.
In preparation for the 3mm epoxy resin SL screed the old floor was cleaned and prepared using the totally enclosed shotblasting floor surface preparation system and using a handheld 110v diamond grinder for the edgework.
The whole floor was then vacuumed clean of all residues and dust before repairs were made to damaged concrete, large cracks and holes, as required using epoxy mortar compound and epoxy resin screed.
Finally, 6mm x 6mm channels were saw cut to door thresholds and where necessary to toe in screed
The entire floor area was given two coats of Resdev Pumatect MT moisture tolerant epoxy resin primer.
Once dry, a nominal 3mm Resdev Pumaflow self-smoothing, high gloss, epoxy resin screed was laid in the clients chosen light grey colourway.
The project took 3 days to complete, on time and on budget.
