PSC were delighted to be called to look at an HGV vehicle workshop for a previous client who are leading suppliers of garage equipment for the commercial vehicle industry.
The 392 square metre HGV vehicle workshop in question was for a company in based in Didcot, Oxfordshire who provide industrial gases, technologies and applications expertise globally. The vehicle workshop was used to service and maintain their fleet of HGVs.
The end client was looking for a hardwearing vehicle workshop floor that would be able to handle the constant flow of HGV vehicles. The client had installed two pit areas that would need demarcation, and they were looking to delineate a storage area and walkway to increase the level of health and safety.
At the site visit it was noted that there were areas of the floor that had an existing resin system in place and areas of newly laid concrete. PSC recommended a 2 coat High Build Epoxy Resin flooring system with demarcation in contracting colours of the clients choosing.
In preparation for the recommended 2 coat High Build Epoxy Resin Flooring System the existing resin floor and newly laid concrete floor area was thoroughly cleaned and prepared using a captive diamond grinding machine and totally enclosed handheld diamond grinder. The area was then vacuumed clean of all residues and dust before repairs were made to any localised damaged concrete, cracks, as required using epoxy mortar compound and epoxy resin filler.
The client had made a plan to delineate the 392 square metres of High Build Epoxy Resin Coatings into the workshop area, a storage area and walkway to increase the level of health and safety. The workshop area totalling 289 square metres was masked out and given two coats of KDR Epocoat, high build epoxy resin flooring system, in the clients chosen mid grey.
A 28 square metre walkway was masked out given two coats of KDR Epocoat, high build epoxy resin flooring system, in the clients chosen green and given a 100mm wide demarcation line in safety yellow around its edge totalling 85 linear metres. 75 square metres masked out to create a storage area, with two coats of KDR Epocoat, high build epoxy resin flooring in Chelsea Blue. The two pit areas were masked out given a 700mm wide block around them in KDR Epocoat high build epoxy resin, safety yellow.
Finally 68 linear meters of100mm wide reversing lines were created in KDR Epocoat linemarker, high build epoxy resin white.
In conclusion, the entire job was completed within 9 normal working days, completed on time and within the clients budget.
