PSC were delighted to be invited to look at a 680 square meter car showroom. The car showroom houses an exclusive private collection of performance cars for a private client in Banbury.
The end client was looking for a hardwearing, light, bright and easy to keep clean, At the site visit it was noted that the floor was newly laid concrete floor surface and as such we recommended a moisture tolerant high build epoxy resin flooring system.
In preparation for the moisture tolerant high build epoxy resin flooring system, the entire floor was thoroughly cleaned and prepared using a Husqvarna triple headed diamond grinding floor machine and handheld 110v diamond grinder. The Diamond grinders are used to remove a thin layer of the concrete substrate surface using closely spaced diamond saw blades. These heavy-duty machines are paired with an industrial vacuum system that collects the residue and dust created.
The recommended two coat Moisture Tolerant High Build Epoxy Resin system was then applied to the entire 680 square metre floor area in the end clients chosen gloss platinum light grey, allowing at least 12 hours to dry between coats. Each coat of KDR Epocoat MT High Build Epoxy Resin was hand applied. A paint brush was used to cut in around the edge. After that, the rest of the floor is completed by pouring the resin and spreading it evenly across the floor with a squeegee. A 15-inch roller was then used to back roll to remove any spike marks or squeegee marks. Two coats are applied to build up the thickness and improve longevity of service.
The work was completed in just 5 working days. Above all, completed on time and on budget, leaving the end client with a light reflecting gloss finish.
