PSC were delighted to carry out a 1800 square meter flooring project as part of a wider refurbishment project ready for new tenants. in Brackley, for repeat customer Colonial Construction Ltd. Colonial Construction Ltd based in Northampton offer a full-service blend of professional project management with deep technical expertise. Working closely with clients, consultants and supply partners to deliver commercial construction and refurbishment projects.
The end client in this case was keen to transform their already structurally sound building, with the focus was on maximising the existing asset — transforming it into a modern, fully lettable space that genuinely works for today’s occupiers, without the cost or timeline of a new build.
At the free site visit we recommended to make the 1800sqm warehouse space appeal to most potential tenants and to offer an easy to clean floor surface, a cost-effective epoxy resin coating system be installed that would appeal to light industry, storage and warehousing, vehicle workshops etc. In order to achieve the best overall finish, it was recommended the old floor paint be removed using a captive diamond grinding machine. Repairs made throughout using a polyurethane jointing compound, and the entire floor be given a two-coat high build system in a light, neutral tone that would be light reflective and appeal to the masses.
In preparation for the High Build Epoxy Resin coating system the entire 1800sqm floor was ground back using our fully encapsulated Husqvarna diamond grinding machine. The perimeter and around each structural pillar were ground back by hand using a hand grinder. The floor was then vacuumed clean of all remaining dust and debris.
Localised repairs were made to all holes and cracks, and 300 linear meters of expansion joints were filled with polyurethane jointing compound.
Finally, two coats of Resdev Pumatect high build epoxy resin in the end clients chosen Light Grey was laid to provide the unit with a new high gloss, hard wearing, easy to clean resin floor.
The project took 5 working days from start to finish
