PSC were delighted to be invited to look at a 190 square meter engineering workshop floor for Gloucestershire based engineering firm Advanced Grinding Supplies Ltd. Advanced Grinding Supplies Ltd are agents and distributors of cylindrical grinding machines.

Client Brief & Recommendation

At the site visit PSC noted that floor was in good condition with no large defects or oil marks. The end client brief was for a hardwearing workshop floor, that would be easy to clean and keep clean. The space although painted white had minimal natural light. As such a gloss floor would help to reflect the available light around the room. It was recommended that a two coat High Build Epoxy Resin flooring system be installed.

In Preparation

In preparation for refurbishing the busy workshop floor, the floor was prepared using PSC’s own captive diamond grinders and the residue and dust created vacuumed clean using an industrial vacuum system. Repairs were then made to any localised damaged concrete, expansion joints, holes, bolt holes as required using resin screed and resin filler.

190 Square Metres Two Coat High Build Epoxy Resin System

The recommended two coat High Build Epoxy Resin system was then applied to the entire engineering workshop floor area in the end clients chosen gloss light grey. The team hand applied the resin around the edge, cutting in with a paint brush. The rest of the floor was then completed by pouring the Resdev Pumatect High Build Epoxy Resin and spreading it evenly across the floor with a squeegee. The resin was then back rolled with a 15-inch roller to remove any spike marks or squeegee marks – allowing at least 12 hours to dry between coats.

The work was completed in just 2 days – on time and on budget, completely transforming the space.
