PSC were delighted to carry out further work for repeat client Tech Trucks UK Ltd of Hereford. Based in Eardisley, Northwest of Hereford itself, Tech Trucks UK Ltd are a MAN UK Dealership and commercial garage. The commercial garage workshop is fully equipped with brake rollers, pits, column lifts, diagnostics etc.
The client was looking for a HGV safe vehicle workshop floor that would be easy to clean and keep clean, have reversing lines to improve health and safety. The floor of choice needed to be hard wearing and impervious to substances such as grease, oil, and fuel. We recommended that once prepared we lay a coat of oil tolerant primer as there was contaminated concrete in the oil storage area. Followed by a two coat High Build Epoxy Resin system with demarcation in highly visible safety yellow. It was decided that we split the works into 2 phases so as to minimise operational downtime.
In order to thoroughly prepare the existing workshop floor surface, the main floor was ground back using our triple headed diamond grinder. The edges and around lifts etc was ground back using a handheld grinder. The entire floor was then swept and vacuumed clean of any dust or debris. Repairs were then made to any localised damaged concrete, holes and cracks using epoxy resin screed and polyurethane mortar.
The team installed one coat of Resdev, oil tolerant epoxy resin primer to 210 square metres of oil contaminated concrete in the oil storage area.
Once the primer was dry, they laid two coats of Resdev Pumatect High Build Epoxy Resin flooring system, in the clients chosen Mid Grey, Ral 7046.
Finally, the team masked out a 300mm wide band around the two pit areas, Van MOT pit, Van Brake Tester, Van Light Tester and Rolling Road. And 100mm reversing lines to two pit area, totalling 190 linear metres. These were infilled with Resdev Pumatect V High Build Epoxy Resin, in Safety Yellow.
In total the project took just 10 days to complete and has transformed the workshop. The client was delighted with the finished results as it has transformed the workshop.
