Over the bank holiday weekend PSC installed 560 square metres of two coats of high build epoxy resin for Hereford based TRP Polymer Solutions Ltd. TRP Polymer Solutions Ltd specialise in design, development and manufacture of custom rubber mouldings and ‘O’ rings for industries worldwide including chemical processing, oil & gas, aerospace, nuclear, pharmaceutical and medical. The areas in question included a Production Area totalling 410 square metres, leading to a Corridor and Side Rooms totalling 150 square metres
The client was looking for a very hard-wearing factory floor, that would be easy to clean and keep clean, be highly durable and bright. At the free site visit it was evident there were layers of old failed epoxy resin coats that would need to be removed before the recommended 2 coat high build system was installed.
The client was keen to reinforce health and safety standards and as such asked us to mask out lay two coats of high build epoxy resin flooring system in Safety Yellow to 3 separate areas totalling 14.5 square metres.
In preparation the old, failed epoxy resin coats were fully removed using the captive Husqvuarna diamond grinding machine for the bulk of the area. While in between all the in-situ machines and presses a handheld diamond grinding machine was used.
Repairs were made to localised damaged concrete, holes and cracks across the floor using an epoxy mortar compound. Any residue/dust was then vacuumed clean.
Two coats of Resdev Pumatect high build epoxy resin in the clients chosen Mid grey colourways was laid.
3 separate areas totalling 14.5 square metres were masked out and two coats of HB high build epoxy resin flooring system in Safety Yellow were laid.
The work was completed in just 3 days over the bank holiday weekend, to limit the factory downtime. The client was delighted with the finish and is already discussing a further 3 phases.
