PSC Flooring were delighted to refurbish a 200 square metres of HGV workshop for new client in Worcestershire. Based in Worcestershire the client was looking to develop an agricultural building for machinery storage and a workshop area as well as a vehicle workshop to be used in association with the client’s vintage car collection.
The client was looking for a hard-wearing resin floor that would be light, bright and easy to keep clean. At the site visit PSC recommended a Nominal 4mm MD polyurethane screed the busy workshop.
In preparation for the 4mm MD polyurethane screed the newly laid concrete floor was ground back using the totally enclosed triple headed diamond grinding floor preparation system, and the edge work with totally enclosed handheld 110v diamond grinder.
The entire floor was then vacuumed clean all residues and dust with 110v triple motor vacuum.
The team saw cut 6mm x 6mm channel to perimeter of floor area, door thresholds and drains, to toe in and anchor screed.
Two coats of Resdev Pumatect MT, moisture tolerant, epoxy resin priming system, with a 0.4 to 0.6m quartz aggregate to aid anti-slip.
The team installed the Nominal 4mm MD polyurethane screed, totalling 200 square metres, in the clients chosen Dark grey Ral 7016.
50 linear metres of 6mm x 6mm Saw cuts were then made to the existing expansion joints. The joints were then knocked out and in filled with DCP PU 330 polyurethane flexible jointing compound, Grey.
Three 3m channels each 6mm x 6mm were saw cut around the shutter doors. Two 1m channels were saw cut around the drains and to pedestrian door thresholds. The channels were knocked out and infilled with DCP PU polyurethane flexible jointing compound, in Grey totalling 11 linear metres
The project took just 4 days, including preparation. The new resin floor has completely transformed the new vehicle workshop. Leaving the client with a bright, easy to clean floor ideal for vehicles.
